The number of new knowledge-work postings was little changed from December 2025 to May 2026. Applications per opening increased over the same period.
The result is crowding on each remaining vacancy, rather than an increase in labour demand.
Applicants in Canada and the United States should expect that a posting older than a few days has already received a first group of applications. Completing the form remains a stronger signal than submitting additional incomplete applications.
